BC, Tallinn, 06.08.2015.Print version
The Estonian Competition Board granted permission to Estonian veterinary medicines and products wholesalers AS Dimela and AS Remedium to merge; the new company will be called AS Dimedium, LETA/Äripäev.ee reports.
Äripäev wrote in July that Margus Linnamäe-owned animal medicines wholesales company Magnum Veterinaaria, which owns approximately 26% of the market, plans to grow strongly in the coming years, by opening veterinary clinics and pet shops under the name of Pet City.
Now Linnamäe has a significant competitor: in Estonian veterinary medicines wholesale business, Dimela has a 11.7% market share and Remedium a 11% market share.
Both companies have been operating in the field of veterinary medicinal products since 1992.
The net sales of Dimela, which operates besides Estonia also in Latvia and Lithuania, was in 2014 13 million euros, Remedium's 4.3 million.
