At his meeting with representatives of the Estonian Service Industry Association on July 28th, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas said that the Government is firmly committed to developing both the business environment and competitiveness, and that he greatly appreciates the support of entrepreneurs and their willingness to engage in the process, reports BC governmental press service.

“The views of the Estonian Service Industry Association and the Government on how to enhance the business environment in Estonia are similar in several ways," said Rõivas. "These concern the lowering of labour taxes, the creation of higher value-added jobs and the reduction of red tape," listed Rõivas.

Discussions on the e-residency programme focused on questions regarding how to make the project work more effectively for the Estonian economy through various services. To date, nearly 200 companies have been created through the e-residency programme. "The State will ensure that the application for e-residency is as convenient as possible, while we expect operators to offer innovative service ideas to e-residents," Rõivas said.

In the meeting, the need to increase competition in medicine and patient options for receiving medical services were also discussed.

The Estonian Service Industry Association is a voluntary organisation that brings together service industry companies, including businesses in the design, technology, consultancy, legal and creative fields.
