KVV Liepajas metalurgs has prepared two strategy plans

BC, Riga, 11.06.2015.Print version
KVV Liepajas metalurgs has prepared two business plans to keep the company running, and they will be submitted to the government at the end of June or beginning of July, KVV Liepajas metalurgs co-owner Valery Krishtal told LETA.

According to the first plan, the company's rolling mill will continue operations and prepare rolled metal products from semi-finished manufactures. The mill's maximum output will be 64,000 tons a month. The mill currently produces 25,000 to 30,000 tons a month.

"We employed 30 new workers at the mill this week. The mill currently has 320 workers," said Krishtal.

The second plan stipulates resuming operations at the plant's steel melting facility.

"In order to implement this plan, we will have to cooperate with the government – a clear government plan and schedule on reducing the mandatory procurement component payments (MPC) for electricity. Before the company was acquired, the administrator informed us that this issue will be solved in 2015. We did and still are taking this fact into consideration," explained Krishtal.

The two strategy plans are to be submitted to the government between June 29 and July 2.
