On June 9 in Strasbourg, the Latvian Foreign Ministry’s Parliamentary State Secretary for EU Affairs, Zanda Kalnina-Lukasevica, signed a number of EU legislative acts, which provide for the systematisation and simplification of regulations currently in force in order to make them clearer and more understandable, reports BC the Latvian MFA.

Together with the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz, she signed a regulation on imports of certain textile products, a regulation on safeguard measures provided for in the agreement between the European Economic Community and Norway, regulations on the Stabilisation and Association Agreements with Albania and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia as well as a regulation on certain procedures for applying the agreement on trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

More than ten amendments had already been made to this set of legislative acts; therefore, their systematization and simplification was required so that they can be as understandable as possible to EU citizens.
