Eastern Partnership countries ready to boost cooperation in business sector

Print versionAccording to a rough draft of the EaP Riga Summit Declaration /Communique/ that LETA has seen, the participating states intend to state their resolve to heighten the "business dimension" of the Partnership, and improve the mutual business environment to benefit "local, regional, Europe's small and midsize companies."

Even though intensive efforts continue in preparing the Communique, LETA has learned that the Summit delegates will be taking into account recommendations from the Business Forum (also being held in Riga), and will have words of praise for the EU's cooperation programs geared toward support for small and midsize businesses in partner countries.
The Summit delegates are also set to acknowledge the heretofore non-utilized potential of the digital market.
At the same time, delegates intend to commend the involvement of academicians and researchers in GEANT (Gigabit European Academic Network).
