Latvian NP Foods CEO Rolands Gulbis resigns; Erik Smith-Hansen steps in

Latvian NP Foods CEO Rolands Gulbis has decided to resign, the company informed LETA.

Rolands Gulbis.

Gulbis became the company's CEO on January 2012.

 

As of March 23rd, the position will be assumed by Erik Smith-Hansen, who was a sales manager at Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Norway after joining Orkla" Group in 1998.

 

Smith-Hansen says that the company plans to earn consumer trust and achieve growth in the coming years.

 

Orkla and NP Foods merger deal was closed on March 11, 2015, with the Norway-registered Orkla acquiring NP Foods and its subsidiaries Laima, Gutta, Staburadze, Staburadzes konditoreja and Margiris.

 

Thus, Orkla has become one of the largest suppliers of consumer goods on the Baltic food market.

 

Orkla Group's turnover in 2013 amounted to NOK 33 billion (EUR 4.13 billion).
