The meeting focused on current home affairs and foreign affairs.

Usakovs said that during the past couple of years, economic cooperation between Riga and Stockholm has been growing. This thanks to the increasing amount of investments, as well as the growing number of tourists. Usakovs said that work is continuing to enable Ikea to open a retail outlet in Riga.

"We are struggling to enable the popular Scandinavian company Ikea to open in Riga, as it would provide a great contribution to the city's economy," Usakovs said.

Bildt, on the other hand, said that Riga is an attractive place for the Swedish tourists.
