Tele2 turnover in Latvia down 6% in 2014

Mobile communications operator Tele2 turnover in 2014 reached EUR 100 million, the company informed LETA. This is 6% less than in 2013, when Tele2 turned over EUR 106 million, reports LETA.

Meanwhile, Tele2 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) in 2014 was EUR 32.3 million, which is about 4% less than in 2013, when the company's EBITDA was EUR 33.7 million, according to information from LETA archive.

 

The total Tele2 AB Group turnover in 2014 was EUR 2.85 billion, while EBITDA reached EUR 651 million.

 

In 2013, the company's investments amounted to EUR 8.4 million, significantly improving its 4G coverage. Tele2 also opened eight new customer service centers last year.

 

Market estimations indicate that in 2014, Tele2 achieved a high EBITDA cost-benefit ratio as compared to other Latvian mobile communications companies. In 2013, Tele2 EBITDA cost-benefit ratio was 32.4%.

 

Tele2 CEO Valdis Vancovics says that in 2014, the number of Tele2 clients using mobile Internet significantly increased.

 

"Our aim this year is to provide excellent mobile Internet experience and to significantly increase our market share. We will continue developing our 4G network in order to make it available to 90% of Latvia's population," Vancovics says.
