The statistics of Krediidiinfo (Credit Information) reveals that the turbulent events in the second half of 2014 in the world have not affected the good payment behaviour of Estonian enterprises – the number of companies with debts and the debt sums are at a stable level, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Thus, the total number of companies with payment defaults, as well as corporate tax debt has remained almost the same in a year, the decrease was only 1%. 2,799 companies have payment defaults and 3,932 have tax debts.

However, the inter-corporate debt amounts (payment problems) have after major falls increased slightly (4%), amounting to a total of nearly 44 million euros.

Three-quarters of the total amount of payment problems belong to two sectors – more than a half (24 million) to real estate, and 18% (8 million) to transport and warehousing sector. In both areas, there was also an increase in the amount of payment defaults (17.3% and 0.9% respectively).

Tax debts of enterprises to the state decreased by nearly 15% and totalled 34.3 million euros.

The biggest falls of tax debts took place in the financial and insurance activities (-65.4%), electricity (-58.7%) and service activities (-54%).
