Estonian Health Insurance Fund approved 2015 budget
The largest share of EHIF's health care services funding in the budget is formed by specialised medical aid services, for which 549 million euros is planned this year, nearly 26 million euros or 5% more than last year. The growth is mainly influenced by the health workers' pay increase and the modernization of the healthcare services list, the addition of new services and activities related to ensuring access to health services.
Health workers wage growth share in the price of services is 27 million.
General healthcare funding increases by nearly 8%, amounting to 92 million euros. The growth comes from the addition of the new, so-called therapeutic fund, change of the family doctors' quality additional fees system, increase in using the service of a second family nurse, and health studies research fund ceiling growth by 5%.
The 2015 budget allocates 111.6 million euros to compensate state-subsidised medicines, which is 1.6 million more than the 2014 budget.
The temporary work disability benefit payments to insured persons will amount to 102.6 million euros, which is 6% higher than the 2014 budget. The increase is mainly due to the increase in the average daily wage.
