Estonia exported 700,000 euros worth of Christmas trees in 2013

Estonia's exported last year more than 700,000 euros worth of Christmas trees, and the main target countries were Denmark and the United Kingdom, LETA/Delfi reports.

In the last quarter of 2013, more than 100,000 euros worth of Christmas trees were imported to Estonia, mainly from Denmark (97%), the Statistical Office blog reveals.

 

Altogether, 2.5 million euros worth of Christmas goods were exported and imported in 2013; as compared to 2012, exports of Christmas goods increased two times and imports by 1.4 times.

 

Christmas goods were imported from 23 countries. Most were imported from China and the Netherlands (42 and 11% of the Christmas goods imports).

 

Estonia exported Christmas goods to 35 countries, mostly to Germany and Russia (44 and 20% of the Christmas merchandise exports).

 

The majority of fireworks sold in Estonia came from China (96%). In 2013, more than 1.2 million euros worth of pyrotechnic products were imported, which was 1.6 times more than the year before.
