Print versionNearly 980,000 people can cast votes at the upcoming Riigikogu elections on March 1 next year; nearly 76,500 of them live abroad, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

As of November 1, there were 979,910 citizens with voting rights in Estonia. The number of voters is the biggest in the city of Tallinn, 264,844, which is divided into several electoral districts.
The number of Estonian citizens who permanently reside abroad is 76,488.
Before the Riigikogu elections in 2011, the number of citizens with voting rights was 964,095 and the number of Estonian citizens who permanently resided abroad was 49,650.
The elections take place on March 1, 2015. Advance voting and e-voting starts on February 19.
