Estonian government approves of emergency situations plans
Interior Minister Hanno Pevkur said at the government's press conference that the aim of the two newly completed emergency situations solving plans is to ensure coordinated and effective action of state institutions in case of a sudden attack or a hostage situation, and as quick and safe stopping of the attacker as posible.
"Sudden attack and hostage-taking are very serious and dangerous crimes; often the perpetrator's main objective is to cause the greatest possible damage, and possibly to kill or injure people who are accidentally on his way. When compiling and supplementing emergency plans, we mainly mitigate the consequences, but even more seriously we need to work together to reach to the roots of complex problems. The best outcome would be if no emergency plan would need to be implemented in real life, "said Hanno Pevkur.
