Latvia wants to facilitate economic cooperation with New Zealand, Latvian Ambassador to New Zealand Andris Teikmanis said during a meeting with the representatives of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of New Zealand.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Latvia informed LETA that both parties discussed their positive cooperation in various international organizations, as well as bilateral matters. Matters concerning bilateral economic cooperation were also discussed, as well as Latvia's priorities during its presidency of the Council of the European Union.

 

Teikmanis said that Latvian business owners are interested in cooperating with New Zealand in trade of high value added products, as well as in other fields, such as information technology.

 

The Latvian ambassador provided information on Latvia's business environment, and submitted investment offers prepared by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia.

 

New Zealand's representatives expressed interest in signing the EU-New Zealand bilateral cooperation agreement as soon as possible, and discussed the signing of a free trade agreement.
