The head of the OECD assessed and commended Lithuania's consistent and sound steps towards achieving the goal of joining the organization faster.

"The action plan was adopted together with the OECD and is being implemented actively, in close consultation with the organization's secretariat. Lithuania has strengthened its diplomatic presence in Paris in preparation for membership and planned the necessary state budget finance for this goal," said the minister.

During the visit to Riga, Linkevicius also met with the State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alex Petriashvili. The ministers discussed the outcome of the NATO Summit, implications of Russia's aggression against Ukraine for regional security, as well as Georgia's progress in implementing reforms needed on the path of European integration.

Georgia's minister thanked Linkevicius for Lithuania's continuous and sincere support for Georgia's integration into NATO and the EU. Petriasvili also informed the minister about enhanced coordination of eurointegration reforms in Tbilisi and requested Lithuania to share its valuable experience in this area.
