Lithuania to assist Montenegro in developing justice system

Print versionThe Justice Ministries of Lithuania and Montenegro signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday. Lithuania committed to Montenegro to provide assistance in implementing reforms in the area of justice, reports LETA/ELTA.

Minister of Justice of Lithuania Juozas Bernatonis and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Montenegro Dusko Markovic signed the memorandum and discussed Montenegro's European integration process.
According to Markovic, it was agreed that cooperation would mostly encompass criminal and civil law, as well as international aid and court reform.
Minister of Justice Juozas Bernatonis assured his counterpart that Lithuania fully supports Montenegro's integration into the EU and NATO, and is ready to assist and provide advice.
Representatives of the Justice Ministry will visit Montenegro in the nearest future to discuss sectors of cooperation in detail.
