Latvian interior minister "blacklists" five persons in August

BC, Riga, 02.09.2014.Print version
Latvian Minister of Interior Rihards Kozlovskis (Unity) has "blacklisted" five persons in August 2014, thus, since Russia's incursion in Ukraine, Latvia's blacklist has been supplemented with 26 persons, the Ministry of Interior informed LETA.

A total of 45 persons have been included on the blacklist this year.

The Immigration Law stipulates that Minister of Interior can decide to add a foreign citizen to the list, if he or she fits one of the seven conditions, for example, proper authorities may have reason to believe that a foreigner is a threat to national security.

Those foreigners who are on the blacklist, are not authorized to enter Latvia.
