Ministry: no Estonian citizens live in Ebola outbreak areas

The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that as far as they know, no Estonian citizens are permanently residing in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Affairs and Health Board discussed today the consequences of the Ebola outbreak in the three West African countries, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.

 

The aim of the meeting was to discuss, among other things, information for travellers who plan to visit the countries involved in Ebola outbreak.

 

Foreign Minister Urmas Paet said that as far as the Foreign Ministry knows, no Estonian citizens permanently live in any of these countries. Also, no temporary occupants have been registered.

 

"However, there are people infected with Ebola now outside these countries too," said Paet.
