Lithuania spent EUR 4.1 bln on public procurement in 2012

Print versionAccording to the data of Public Procurement Office (VPT), in 2012 Lithuania spent LTL 14.5 billion (EUR 4.1 billion) on public procurement, informs LETA/ELTA.

It is by 14.3% more than in 2011 when the total value of the contracts stood at LTL 12.8 billion (EUR 3.7 billion).
Last year, the number of published tenders increased, whereas the number of unpublished declined. The share of published procurements in 2011 – 2012 increased from 74.7% to 80.7% of total number of tenders throughout this period, while the number of unpublished tenders declined from 25.3% to 19.3% (excluding low-value procurement).
