LETA was informed of this by the Court Administration's PR specialist Gatis Taurins.
476 judges received bonuses, as did 1,601 officials.
The average amount for each judge was LVL 500, ranging between LVL 150 to LVL 800, while the various officials averaged LVL 150 per bonus, ranging between LVL 50 and LVL 300.
The bonuses were paid according to the law and regulations thereof, Taurins explained, adding that the quality of each judge's and court official's performance was evaluated by superiors and then an amount set.
He also pointed out that the money was available due to savings on overall salaries, which in turn is due to significant staff turnover and unfilled job vacancies in courts and Land Register offices.
Also, Prime Minister Godmanis' October 31 ban on bonuses for government employees does not pertain to judges and court officials.
The basic salary that a district or municipal judge receives, excluding the additional sum for level of qualifications, is LVL 1,107 a month.
