The agreement will foster Latvian-Moldovan cooperation in the development of national regional policies, spatial planning, regional and municipal strategic planning, interregional and cross-border cooperation, administrative system optimization and organization of municipal work, LETA was informed by the Latvian Environmental Protection and Regional Development Ministry.

The agreement also envisages bilateral cooperation in absorbing EU funds and other foreign financial instruments in environmental protection, climate policy, regional development and territorial cooperation areas.

"The agreement is a new step in both countries' further cooperation on regional development matters. It will allow us to form target-oriented and closer cooperation, providing each other the required support and assistance," emphasized Sprudzs.
