Latvia has already allocated EUR 842.63 mln for Covid-19 crisis alleviation

By the beginning of July, the state has allocated EUR 842.63 million in funding to alleviate the crisis caused by Covid-19, LETA was informed by the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The main source of support for alleviating the negative impact of the crisis is from the budget program "Contingency Funds", which has a total of EUR 625 million euros available this year.
By the beginning of July, the government had allocated EUR 385.6 million from these contingency funds.
As reported, Finance Minister Janis Reirs (New Unity) previously stated that up to EUR 4 billion worth of state support will be made available to alleviate the negative impact of the Covid-19 crisis.
