Print versionLithuania's State Security Department, or VSD, wants to have more instruments it could use against lawyers who help migrants to legalize their arrival in Lithuania by abusing the procedures and says that such an "immigration package" costs around 6,500 euros, informs LETA/BNS.

"As part of our terrorism prevention efforts, we see that one of the ways to enter Lithuania is by abusing our immigration procedures," Kestutis Budrys, deputy director of the VSD, said while presenting a set of draft amendments during a meeting of the parliament's National Security and Defense Committee on Wednesday.
"There are lawyers who help obtain permits and organize a bogus activity even though they know that (these people) will not stay here, that these persons do not intend to work and live in Lithuania, and that sometimes that have other plans, which may sometimes be related to radical activities," he said.
