Roivas called on Moldova to continue carrying out vital reforms, be it the fight against corruption, reforming the court system and law enforcement institutions, or assuring media independence.

Roivas affirmed that Estonia is still ready to support the implementation of different e-solutions in Moldova, which would advance the reform process in the country and would help implement good governance practice.

Estonia is to continue to support Moldova's development projects with nearly a million euros in 2016, a part of which would be carried out with help from the Estonian Eastern Partnership Center.

Estonian Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand at a meeting with her Moldovan counterpart Andrei Galbur confirmed that Estonia supports Moldova's integration with the European Union.

Kaljurand on Wednesday met with Galbur who is on an official visit to Estonia and at the meeting they focused on bilateral cooperation and Moldova's integration with the EU, spokespeople for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

"The bilateral relations between Estonia and Moldova are very good and we wish to strengthen these further," Kaljurand said. She confirmed Estonia's readiness to share with Moldova its practical experience with carrying out economic reforms, strengthening democratic state structures and civil society, and regarding healthcare and e-governance.

Kaljurand stressed that it is important that Moldova continues with the reforms and Estonia continues to support Moldova's EU integration aspirations. "As long as the Moldovan people and government are committed and want to move forward toward integration with the European Union, Estonia strongly supports Moldova. We are friends, partners, supporters," she added.

According to Kaljurand Moldova first and foremost has to focus on the fight against corruption, reforming the rule of law, and finding solutions to problems connected with the financial sector.

According to Kaljurand it is important for Moldova to pay more attention to spreading information regarding the EU to improve the public's knowledge about the EU.

The two ministers also spoke about strengthening economic cooperation, the relationship between Moldova and the EU and implementing the association agreement, the situation in the region and relations with Russia.
