BC, Tallinn, 05.02.2016.Print version
The examination of knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia and of the Citizenship Act, which all applicants for Estonian citizenship must pass, are conducted electronically from the start of 2016, informs LETA/BNS.

The agency responsible for the conduct of the examination is SA Innove and the examination can be taken in Tallinn, Tartu, Johvi and Narva.

"The electronic examination is conducted at the local examination of office of Innove. The biggest change for the examinee is that the examinee will get to know their point score, or the result, right after the examination. The electronic certificate will be issued within a couple of workdays after the conduct of the examination," Rain Sannik, head of the testing center at SA Innove, said.

In the test, 24 multiple-choice questions are put to the examinee and the test is regarded to have been passed if the examinee answers 18 of the questions right. The exam lasts 45 minutes and the examinee can use copies of the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia and the Citizenship Act in Estonian as well as a dictionary provided by the examining authority on the premises.

The examination is conducted in Tallinn twice every month and in Tartu, Johvi and Narva once every month.

Approximately 500 people successfully passed the examination of knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Estonia and of the Citizenship Act last year.

Established in 2003, SA Innove is a foundation in the area of government of the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research.
