The city's press service said that Savisaar will announce himself of the decision of whether he would waiver the Riigikogu member's seat he won at the parliament elections in spring, right before his tragic illness.

Estonian Centre Party chairman, Mayor of Tallinn Edgar Savisaar was hospitalised on March 18 and was diagnosed with severe streptococcus or the so-called flesh-eating bacteria infection, which ended in toxic shock syndrome and amputation of his leg. He was in hospital till the end of June.

Veteran politician Savisaar, who collected an ultra-powerful mandate – 25,057 votes at the parliamentary elections in March, has said that he will make a decision in the autumn about whether he would take the Riigikogu seat or not. Since he has not accepted or declined the seat, the Estonian parliament has had 100 members so far instead of the required 101.
