State Duma to discuss Estonian-Russian border treaty in November

Print versionThe Russian State Duma will discuss the bill of ratification of the Estonian-Russian border agreements, that determine the two countries' land borders and sea borders on Gulf of Narva and Gulf of Finland in November 2015, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

Although the State Duma has not set a firm date, it is known that this should take place during November, the Public Broadcasting's Russian language news portal claimed.
Estonian parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Hannes Hanso (SDP) said that the Estonian government will hand over the bill of ratification of the border treaties this year, and it has to be approved by 68 deputies out of 101.
The Estonian-Russian border agreements were signed on February 18 last year by the then Foreign Minister of Estonia Urmas Paet and his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
Riigikogu passed the first reading of Estonian-Russian border agreements in mid-April last year.
