At 10 a.m., the President will walk to the Freedom Monument for a ceremonial placing of flowers at the foot.

From there, he will be taken uptown for another ceremony at 10:40 in Brethren (Bralu) Cemetery, again with flowers in hand.

At high noon in Old Town's House of Blackheads (Melngalvju nams), Vejonis will symbolically take over the presidency from Andris Berzins, who had decided not to seek a second term.

The Inauguration Reception will start at 3 p.m.

The Greens/Farmers nominee, Vejonis received sufficient support from Saeima deputies in the fifth go-round with 55 votes.
