34 regional visits the total for Latvian president Berzins in 4 years

Print versionRegional visits for any president anywhere are a key aspect, and outgoing Andris Berzins of Latvia, in his four years, has scored 34, informs LETA.

In his first year in office, the President visited Jurmala, Liepaja, Dauagavpils and Ventspils, among the 12.
A highlight in early June 2012 was his tour of northern Kurzeme – Kolka, Mazirbe and Slitere, accompanied by the Ilveses – the President and First Lady of Estonia.
His second year in office, Balvi, Nereta and Malpils were among the eight cities or towns visited.
Limbazi, Kuldiga and Kraslava were among the destinations for Berzins during his third year in office.
The President's final year in office featured only four regional visits: to Talsi, Livani, Gulbene and Bauska.
On each trip, Berzins had the first hand opportunity to visit local businesses, schools and community/culture centers.
