BC, Vilnius, 27.05.2015.Print version
The Tripartite Council in Lithuania convened on Tuesday, 26 May. Representatives of trade unions, employers and the Government continued to discuss the new Labour Code – one of the fundamental parts of the new social model drafted by scientists, informs LETA/ELTA.

The Tripartite Council focused on the proposal to establish more types of employment contracts and facilitate their application. After long talks, it was agreed on: employment through temporary employment companies, job sharing agreements, project labour contracts and particularities of labour relations of workers on secondments.

However, the final list of employment contract types has not been confirmed. The issue will be discussed at a later time.

Next, participants of the sitting agreed to remove from the new Labour Code regulation particularities concerning educators, cultural employees and athletes. General labour relations of educators and cultural employees will be regulated by the Labour Code. Meanwhile particularities of labour relations will be regulated by accompanying legislation.

The next sitting of the Tripartite Council is scheduled for 16 June and will continue deliberating on the Labour Code.
