Estonian government approved increase in child support for the next 4 years

The Estonian government today approved one of its main promises – an increase in child support, aimed to improve the coping of families with children, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

According to the bill, in the next two years, the first and second child support is 50 euros a month, starting 2018, it is 55 euros, and by 2019 it is increased to 60 euros.

 

Child support starting from the third child in the family will not change, it will be 100 euros per child.

 

For families who raise three to six children, the new family allowance is starting July 2017, 200 euros per month, for families with seven or more children, 370 euros per month.

 

With the adoption of the bill, child support and child-rich family support together increase in the state budget by 14 million euros in 2016, by 20.6 million euros in 2017, by 69.7 million euros in 2018 and by 84.1 million euros in 2019.
