Meeting with Minsk City Executive Andrey Shorets, both put their signatures on a mutual cooperation document for 2015-2017 that includes steps to boost business ventures, tourism, and exchange of experience in management of utilities, protection of outdoor landmarks, social policy and health care.

Delegation of Riga municipality yesterday took part in the opening of the International Tourism Exhibition "Leisure 2015". At the opening, Usakovs said that in the period 2012-2014 the number of tourists from Belarus in Latvia has doubled, so the country will continue to advertise itself as an attractive target for tourist trips.

Riga Mayor also opened the Latvian-Belorussian business forum and visited Minsk Technology Park.

Cooperation between Riga and Minsk was established in March 29, 1999 by the Agreement between Riga City Council and the Executive Committee in Minsk. Areas of cooperation: the development of transit flows and tourism, environmental protection and culture. In order to strengthen the ties of both cities and cooperation, Days of Minsk were held in October 2014 in Riga, including cultural and sporting events, meetings of officials and business forum.
