Riga Regional Court decided today to release from custody two Zolitude tragedy case suspects – construction inspection expert Andris Gulbis and civil engineer Ivars Sergets.

Gulbis' attorney, Vaida Davidsone told LETA that tomorrow, January 27, her client will be imposed with a new measure of precaution, unrelated to imprisonment.

As reported, three physical persons – construction inspection expert Andris Gulbis, civil engineer Ivars Sergets, and the designer of the Maxima project, architect Andris Kalinka – have the status of suspect in the case, while two legal entities – the Latvian architectural firm Kubs, and the Latvian planning and design firm HND Grupa, which belongs to Sergets – have been imposed with confiscation of property.

As reported, 54 people died and scores were injured when the roof of the "Maxima" supermarket in Riga-Zolitude caved in on November 21, 2013.
