BC, Riga, 20.12.2014.Print version
After the Corruption Prevention Bureau (CPB) carried out a search at the office of Jurmala City Council construction inspector Ralfs Moritis on December 19th, he has been suspended from his job, LETA was informed by the Jurmala City Council.

The Jurmala City Council made the decision to suspend Moritis right after the search was carried out on December 19th.

Moritis has worked as the Jurmala municipal construction inspector since December of 2011. He also ran in the 12th Saeima elections this year from Harmony's tickets.

The Jurmala City Council also informed that signals on possible illegal activities carried out by Moritis have been received previously – in 2013, he was reprimanded for inaccuracies in preparing building inspection documents for a private home in Jurmala, even though it was clear that there were violations in the construction project.

Jurmala Mayor Gatis Truksnis (Greens/Farmers) established a municipal investigation committee today, who will evaluate the work of Moritis.
