Financial Police forward 30 criminal cases to prosecutor's office in H1

During the first six months this year, the Financial Police Department of the State Revenue Service forwarded 30 criminal cases to the prosecutor's office for launching criminal prosecution, according to the Revenue Service's results for the first six months of 2016, writes LETA.

The Financial Police Department started 119 criminal procedures in January-June, and received another eight from other law enforcement authorities.


The total amount of losses suffered by the state as a result of criminal offenses investigated in these cases is EUR 55.46 mln.


The Financial Police Department forwarded to the prosecutor's office a total of 123 criminal cases last year.


The Financial Police Department of the State Revenue Service mostly concentrates on investigation of those criminal processes that deal with large-scale losses caused to the state budget.
