BaltCap buys Finnish OpusCapita's Baltic operations

BaltCap, the largest private equity and venture capital investor in the Baltics, is acquiring the invoicing and financial automation business of Finland's OpusCapita in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, cites LETA/BNS.

"For BaltCap, the Baltics is a core market and we are thrilled to enter a business with many new opportunities. Through the investment, BaltCap will participate in developing paperless economy – a good fit to our strategy," BaltCap Investment Director Kristjan Kalda said in a press release on Wednesday.

 

The deal, whose value is not being disclosed, will be finalized after obtaining approval from competition authorities and a due diligence process.

 

BaltCap Private Equity Fund II (BPEF II), the buyer of OpusCapita's Baltic operations, was established by BaltCap in cooperation with the European Investment Fund (EIF) as part of the Baltic Innovation Fund (BIF) project.

 

BaltCap has shareholdings in more than 30 Baltic companies with combined annual revenues of more than 300 million euros. Total investments in these companies in the last five years exceeded 150 million euros.
