Aeroflot celebrates 70th anniversary of Vilnius-Moscow route

On 4 December, Vilnius Airport and Aeroflot celebrated 70th anniversary of the Vilnius - Moscow flights. Russian airline started serving the route in 1944, and in the first year Aeroflot carried 48 passengers, while last year there were over 132,000 people travelling this route, reported BC airport’s press service.

"We are pleased to celebrate such an impressive milestone, which we could not reach without our passengers. I am grateful to every of them as well as Lithuanian Airports for this long and efficient cooperation," Igor Kijashko, Aeroflot's representative in the Baltics, said.

 

The number of passengers, travelling with Aeroflot from Vilnius to Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport, is increasing, and comparing the year-on-year result of 11 months, the growth is 8.2%.

 

Celebrating the 70th anniversary at Vilnius Airport, passengers were treated with cupcakes and coffee, and every of them received a souvenir before boarding the aircraft on their way to Moscow.
