In October, retail trade turnover increased by 1.5% in Latvia

Data of Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that, compared to September, the total retail trade turnover in October 2014 rose by 1.5%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Retail trade in food products grew by 0.4%, whereas of non-food products – by 2.2%.

Compared to September, the total retail trade turnover at current prices, not taking into account seasonality, in October increased by 1.8%.

Compared to October 2013, the total retail trade turnover in October 2014 increased by 4.7%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprised 3.2%. In non-food commodity group there was a 5.6% increase, of which in retail sale of automotive fuel – 6.9% increase.

 

In comparison with October of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 4.4% (not taking into account the calendar influence).

In the first ten months of this year, as compared to the same period of the previous year, retail trade turnover has grown by 3.7%, according to calendar adjusted data. Rise in food commodity group comprised 4.3%, but retail trade in non-food products has grown by 3.3%.
