Today in the Riga Old Town, at Valnu Street 21, the first new concept and design Latvijas balzams shop (part of the LB veikali chain) was opened, offering shoppers a contemporary comfortable shopping environment and a wider assortment. The company plans to open several such new concept stores in Riga and Jūrmala over the next two years, investing a total of around half a million euro in modernization, informed BC Latvijas balzams communications manager Dana Hasana.

“It is a true pleasure, on the eve of Latvia’s birthday, to open our doors with a new appearance, offering a special assortment and service to every shopper who comes in here. We want our news shops to become part of Latvia’s symbols and values,” Pāvels Fiļipovs, the head of LB veikali, said when opening the renovated shop.

The new design and concept of Latvijas balzams veikali reflects the transition of the largest alcoholic beverages in the Baltics AS Latvijas balzams, to a new visual identity next year, marking the 115th anniversary of the company.

The renovated shop will have a wider assortment – more than 500 various alcoholic beverage brands. In addition to alcoholic beverages, the shop offers other souvenirs and sweets popular among tourists and local shoppers. The new shop will also please coffee lovers by offering coffee to take away. At certain times there will be a self-service tasting corner, where it will be possible to taste new products from the shop’s assortment.

Currently there are 44 LB shops in Latvia, which are part of the recently formed holding company Amber Beverage Group. The total turnover of LB veikali last year amounted to EUR 13 million. The company employs around 150 persons.
