Transiidikeskuse AS Muuga container terminal handled in October 2014 just 1.3% more containers than a year ago, which is a slowdown as compared to earlier months; the container volume growth slowdown has been caused by a fall in Russia's domestic consumption and low purchasing power, wrote Äripäev's theme website logistikauudised.ee.

Transiidikeskuse AS Muuga container terminal handled 23,034 units in October 2014, which is 1.3% more than in the same period of 2013. The tonnage of goods carried in containers grew by 9.9% in comparison with the period.

In total, Transiidikeskus has handled in ten months 219,803 TEUs, which is 3.4% more than last year.

Together with the general goods terminal, the ten months' turnover of goods was 2,423,097 tonnes, which is 6.5% more than at the same period last year.
