Latvian State Forests – leading forest management company in 2013

Forest management company Latvian State Forests was the leader in Latvian forest management industry last year with turnover of EUR 182.65 million, according to the Latvian Business Annual Report 2014 compiled by Firmas.lv and LETA.

The "Top 10" forest management companies last year were Latvijas Finieris (EUR 131.69 million turnover), Kronospan Riga (EUR 112.47 million turnover), Pata AB (EUR 87.35 million turnover), Stora Enso Latvija (EUR 49.86 million turnover), Billerudkorsnas Latvia (EUR 48.56 million turnover), Metsa Forest Latvia (EUR 43.18 million turnover), Vika Wood (EUR 39.34 million turnover), Gaujas koks (EUR 39.18 million turnover), and AKZ (EUR 36.45 million turnover).

 

CEO of Latvian State Forests Roberts Stripnieks said that the forest management industry continued developing rapidly in the past two years, reaching an export value of EUR 1.875 billion, which indicates that the global demand for Latvian wood is growing.

 

"It is also important for the companies to enter the western markets, which give the feeling of stability, and larger independence from the unpredictable situation in Russia," Stripnieks said.
