Latvian lingerie maker New Rosme opens store in Iraq

Lingerie manufacturer in Latvia and the other Baltic States, the public limited company New Rosme (along with partners) at the beginning of this month opened its first store in Iraq, the spokesperson for the company, Sigita Graudusa, told Nozare.lv, cites LETA.

The new store is located in the city of Najaf.

 

The New Rosme spokeswoman did not reveal the value of investments.

 

Graudusa notes that "although Najaf is one of the most religious cities in Iraq, where publicly exposing a woman's beauty is forbidden more than in any other part of the country, the store is very popular”.

 

Due to the growing interest of customers, New Rosme is considering other stores in Iraq, but the spokesperson did not specify in which cities.

 

The company has 16 chain stores, located in Russia, the Baltic States, Italy, Ukraine, and Iraq.

 

As previously reported, last year the corset, nightgown and swimsuit manufacturering public limited company New Rosme turnover increased by 12.7% from EUR 8.32 in 2012 to EUR 9.38 last year. Annual income last year rose 2.1 times from EUR 66, 991 to EUR 146, 009.

 

New Rosme was established in 1993. The company's equity capital is EUR 920, 706, and its sole owner is Sweden holding company Swegmark Invest AB.
