Estonia’s Baltika increases sales by 12% in September y-o-y

Estonian fashion and retail company Baltika’s consolidated sales revenue from continued operations for September 2014 totalled 4.678 million euros, increasing by 12% compared to the same period last year, the company told the Tallinn stock exchange, cites LETA.

Baltika’s consolidated retail sales revenue for September was 3.776 million euros, increasing 1% compared to the same period last year. Wholesale increased by 105% compared to September in previous year, e-com sales increased by 74%.

 

Retail sales increased in Baltic states by 3%, thereof in Latvia 13%, in Lithuania 7% and in Estonia decreased by 4%. In Russia, retail sales decreased by 8% compared to same period previous year. In local currency sales increased in Russia by 4%.

 

Sales revenue for the third quarter totalled 14.575 million euros, increasing +16% year-on-year. Retail sales revenue was 12.665 million euros (+12%), including Baltic states sales growth +14%. Wholesale was 1.788 million euros (+53%) and e-com revenues 99 thousand euros (+83%).

 

The franchise stores line saw addition of two new stores in September. Franchise partner Gold Button opened first Baltman store in Russia in Moscow and franchise partner Mirworld opened first Monton store in Tenerife. At the end of September Baltika Group had 120 stores, among which 1 franchise store in Russia, 1 in Spain, 2 franchise stores in Belarus and 14 operating franchise stores in Ukraine. Sales area of shops operated by Baltika increased by 1% compared to the same period last year.

 

Sales revenue for the 9 months totalled 39.716 million euros, increasing +8% year-on-year. Retail sales revenue was 35.838 million euros (+5%), including Baltic states sales growth +9%. Wholesale was 3.542 million euros (+38%) and e-com revenues 241 thousand euros (+55%).

 

In connection with Baltika’s exit from the Ukrainian retail business and selling the company there (agreement was signed on 29 April 2014), the sales revenue of the Ukrainian entity is presented as discontinued operation. Sales announcement presents only the results of continuing operations unless indicated otherwise.
