Number of tourists in Sigulda grew by 28% in H1

In the first half of the year 2014, compared to the same period last year, the Latvian town of Sigulda registered a 27.8% increase in the number of guests staying at local accommodation establishments, LETA was informed by the Sigulda Regional Council.

Meanwhile, when looking at accommodation statistics from April to June of this year, there was a 37.1% increase in the number of guests staying at local accommodation establishments when compared to the same period last year.

 

So far this year, Sigulda has accommodated 1.8% of the total foreign guests visiting Latvia, which puts it in third place behind Riga and Jurmala.

 

There are currently 21 accommodation establishments in Sigulda, offering a total of 387 rooms and 1,093 beds.

 

Furthermore, the Sigulda Tourism Information Center has also seen a 22% increase in visitors in the first six months of the year.

 

In Q2, the most tourists in Sigulda came from Russia, Germany, Lithuania, Estonia and UK.
