Record-breaking shipment of grain headed from Lithuania to Iran

Record-breaking Post-Panamax category containership Piera left Klaipeda Seaport on Wednesday and is heading to Iran. It was loaded with the record amount of Lithuanian export grain – the biggest in the history of Klaipeda Seaport, informs LETA/ELTA.

The ship's length is 229.5 metres, beam – 38 metres, it was loaded up to 13 metres draft by Bega stevedoring company. The vessel was loaded in four days. As planned the shipp will transport 74,000 tonnes of wheat.

 

Measuring in train wagons the cargo would constitute 1,100 bulk grain wagons.
