In Q2, Lithuanian companies earn 3.7% more y-o-y

In the second quarter of the year 2014, the income of Lithuanian non-financial companies for goods sold and services rendered amounted to LTL 57.5 billion (EUR 16.6 billion) or by 3.7% more than in the same quarter last year and by 8.9% more than in the first quarter of this year, informed LETA/ELTA, referring to Statistics Lithuania.

Companies operated profitably in Q2. Pre-tax profit of companies accounted for over LTL 4 billion (EUR 1.16 billion). Compared to the same period of 2013, pre-tax profit went up by 26.8% and by 86.8%, compared to the previous quarter.

 

Wholesale and retail trade companies earned the biggest share of prie-tax profit (LTL 503.8 million /EUR 146 million and LTL 297.9 million /EUR 86.4 million respectively), as well real estate companies (LTL 308.3 million/EUR 86.8 million).

 

Average profitability of companies stood at 7.1% (in Q2 of 2013, the rate was 5.8%, in Q1 of 2014 it was 4.2%).
