Latvia's small ports achieve 12.2% increase in cargo turnover in 8 months

Latvia's small ports handled 1.09 million tons of cargo in January-August 2014, 12.2% more than in January-August 2013, when the ports handled 972,000 tons of cargo, according to the Transport Ministry's data, cites LETA/Nozare.lv.
Skulte Port had the largest cargo turnover in January-August 2014 – 540,900 tons – 10.6% more than in January-August 2013, when the port handled 489,200 tons.
Mersrags Port's cargo turnover increased 18.4% to 312,700 tons. Salacgriva Port's cargo turnover was 213,400 tons – a 10.9% increase.
Roja Port handled 23,500 tons of cargo in January-August 2014, 11% less than in January-August 2013.
No cargo was handled at Pavilosta Port in January-August 2014.
