Rail freight transport in Latvia increases by 2.8% in 8 months

Print versionIn the first eight months of 2014, the total amount of rail freight increased by 2.8% from the same period in 2013, reaching 38.9 million tons, the Ministry of Transport informed the business portal Nozare.lv, cites LETA.

The amount of transit cargo transported by rail and via Latvian ports increased 5.6% in the first eight months of 2014, reaching 32.27 million tons.
The total amount of transit cargo increased by 3.2%, reaching 33.5 million tons, while the amount of domestic transit cargo transport decreased by 1.4% to 678,300 tons.
