Riga Council co-finances the opening of concert hall at Latvian Academy of Sciences

Print versionToday, the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Riga City Council agreed to grant EUR 3,000 for the grand opening of the new concert hall "Riga", informs LETA.

The concert hall is located on the premises of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. The opening is scheduled for September 20.
The financing from the Education, Culture and Sports Department is necessary for the concert's technical support, and it will be taken from emergency or reserve funding.
The total estimated costs of the opening concert are EUR 9,800.
"Riga" is a replica of the academy's previous concert hall (1955) which burned down in 1972. The reconstruction cost more than EUR 300,000.
