BC, Vilnius, 03.09.2014.Print version
Hong Kong's market is open for Lithuanian poultry meat producers. Relevant institutions of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have informed the State Food and Veterinary Service (VMVT) that a veterinary certificate needed to import chilled and frozen poultry products has been harmonized, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to the VMVT Director Jonas Milius, negotiations with specialists from Hong Kong over specific veterinary requirements for poultry and poultry products were launched two years ago.

Milius said that major Lithuanian food producers have been waiting for the opportunity to export their goods to Hong Kong as the region is regarded as the gate to the Chinese market.

Currently the VMVT specialists and their counterparts in Hong Kong are still harmonising veterinary certificates needed to export Lithuanian meat products, eggs and dairy products.
